Sports Event Website
Client
Client Overview
The Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office of Musi Banyuasin Regency is the government institution responsible for developing local sports, empowering youth, and managing regional sports events. As the host for the Provincial Sports Week (Porprov), they required a high-capacity digital infrastructure to manage and broadcast real-time sports information across the region.

Project
Problem
Hosting a massive provincial sports event generates a high volume of concurrent data. The client needed a platform to publish real-time match schedules, daily results across dozens of traditional sports categories, and live medal standings. Standard CMS templates could not handle this complex relational data structure, and system instability during peak match times posed a critical risk.
Goals
To provide IT consultancy and develop a dedicated, high-performance web portal serving as the official information hub for Porprov. The primary goal was to engineer a customized backend that allowed event staff to input match results swiftly, automatically updating the overall medal tally (klasemen) and contingent standings in real time.
User & Audience Target
Athletes, contingent officials, sports journalists, media personnel, regional government officials, and the general public.
Research & Discovery
Leveraging an Information Systems background, the project required transforming WordPress into a dynamic Sports Information System. The architecture focused on relational data links between “Sports (Cabor)”, “Schedules”, “Match Results”, and “Contingents”. To maintain high database performance under heavy traffic, a dedicated database environment was deployed specifically for Porprov. Custom Post Types (CPT) and custom query logic were designed to automate medal aggregation.
Project Scope
IT consultancy for system architecture and full-stack development of the official Porprov portal. Scope included UI/UX design, relational database architecture, custom backend data entry workflows, automated medal tally logic, and frontend data visualization.
Core Solution / App
A highly customized web application built on the WordPress framework. While retaining WP’s intuitive administration interface, the backend structure was rebuilt to function as a real-time sports broadcasting system capable of handling rapid daily data entries without performance bottlenecks.
Key Features
Automated Medal Tally (Klasemen Real-time): Custom algorithm aggregating daily match results to update contingent standings (Gold, Silver, Bronze) automatically.
Dynamic Match Schedules & Results: Filterable system allowing visitors to view schedules and past results sorted by dates or specific sports (Cabang Olahraga).
Contingent Directory: Dedicated profiles for participating cities and regencies displaying medal achievements and team details.
Streamlined Data Entry Dashboard: Secure, simplified backend designed for quick result entries by event staff during peak competition hours.
Role & Contributions
As Lead Consultant and Software Engineer, architected the data flow and system structure, configured server environments, and wrote custom PHP and database queries to automate medal calculations. Designed intuitive operator entry forms and a responsive frontend using HTML, CSS, and JS.
Results / Outcomes
Served as the definitive single source of truth during the Porprov event. The automated calculation drastically eliminated human errors in standings and provided seamless access to data for media and the public during traffic spikes following major match outcomes.
Learnings & Future Steps
Demonstrated the viability of WordPress for relational data web apps when properly engineered. Advanced techniques in database query optimization and automated data processing paved the way for future integrations, such as live score tracking and mobile API endpoints.
